It’s Mother’s Day Weekend, and what better time to talk about my Mom?!

If you’ve ever hung out with Becky and I, you know we have a lot of fun! I’ve been lucky to have a built-in best friend my whole life–or at least most of my life. We’ll ignore the teenage phase for now…
Anyways, we’re almost always together, looking for ways to spice up our everyday routine.
Like running to Autumn Pearl for our favorite drinks or Tropic Treats for our favorite… treats. Hey, they put it right in the name!! We love discussing new fragrances, (medical grade) skincare products, and baked goods! I’ve taken up a bit of baking lately, and having a family with a huge sweet tooth has made that quite easy. It’s very rewarding when my Mom demands a quadruple batch of my cookies so they don’t run out. Enjoying the everyday moments with my Mom has been very gratifying, and I love that we don’t always have to be serious!
Even though I’m most grateful for being able to experience the everyday things with my Mom, I never expected what it would mean to me to get to watch her work on the bigger things in life. Watching my Mom build a new career and business has been so electrifying! It’s an amazing feat, and it takes an amazing woman to accomplish it.
The standards she sets for herself and Ilume Aesthetics are in a constant state of improvement. You can count on her never settling for the basic industry standards, or even just settling for the step above. She’s almost stubbornly a trailblazer!
Becky is in the first five years of building a brand-new business, and from what I’ve heard and read, these are challenging years. She decided to add to her current load by returning to school to become a Nurse Practitioner. As I mentioned before, she’s amazing. Even though she can do it, it’s no small task! But the coolest part is why she did it. She did it for our patients. She wants to provide the best of everything to those who walk through our doors. Which means spending her free time returning to school, signing up for additional continuing education, benchmarking others in the industry, and researching any new treatment or service. She’s relentless in the best way possible.
Through my work at Ilume, I get to experience this with her, learn from her, and share all of it with other people. What a once-in-a-lifetime feeling! As we are both two people who love to share our thoughts, I figured it would be fitting to share my feelings as well.
Happy Mother's Day, Mom! Thanks for everything.
P.S I wonder what my brother will be getting her… definitely nothing as heartfelt as this!!
